The new year had started and Chris Stevens was a busy jockey or one who liked to stay busy. He had retired his Ben to the stud barn which was deemed very difficult for him and now Chris was set to have his half sister Admiral's Lady go for Grade One and the Triple Crown with promise. The dark bay daughter of Admiral's Revenge stood high and fearless looking over at the dirt tracks while ignoring the tugs and touch from her jockey and saddle. Chris helped himself onto the filly's back and patted her gently. "Come on now Mira, you are gonna run that this week." Chris said guiding the filly to the tracks.
Joining them was Excalibur's Stone the half sister to Passion Heart and Rules of Passion. She was by freshman stud TDI Live This Lie who was quite remarkable with Stride of Perfections. Cali was as wild as her dam like all Heart of Stone babies but she had an advantage and that was her sire's intelligence and arrogance that she could be a dangerous competitor. Both fillies met on the track Cali of course moved to the side pinning her ears down in a remark to say beat it while Mira showed no interest in the other.
Cali took off without remorse of Mira being the one facing her. Admiral's Lady also bursted into gear to match with Cali, the tall dark bay filly was not the one to challenge. Cali approached the outside slowly pacing back to let Mira run her way while Cali stalked the movements of her stable mate. Mira nipped at Cali as if to say back off in a competitive streak she pushed herself faster to keep up the times and the commands from Chris who she had forgotten was on her back at the time.
Cali then made her move among the final turn and the two fillies were neck and neck in the home stretch however Mira took her stamina to good use and let loose pulling away from Cali with determination to pass that wire with every breath. By a length Admiral's Lady held her ground with the workout win and pranced soon after for her victory over the TDI Live This Lie daughter who reared at Mira for her moves. The two horses had seemed to hold a slight grudge over another at the end with Mira proving her dominance strong and steady.
Both jockeys had walked the horses off the track to get a good rest before the race of the new year. Mira was already acting like a mature adult but she was still young and wild like the rest of the juveniles in her field.
